Salsa
Lessons:
Beginner and "Beyond Beginner"
8:30 - 9:30 p.m.
No Partner Required.
During the classes we strongly encourage students to mingle.
We start with a combined warm-up and then break into groups.
Beginner
Salsa Lesson
Lessons include: "country style" (side to side) and "big
city style" (front to back) basic steps, switching between the two
basic steps, and an introduction to turns.
Instructor: Suzanne
Steele, Promoter of Temporada Latina
My approach to teaching beginners is analytical and resourceful. I will
draw pictures with my feet, have you walk on an imaginary balance beam,
make analogies to baseball and skateboards, or do what ever it takes to
make dancing seem as simple as walking down the street. For advanced dancers,
I focus on one move and its variations, urging dancers to be creative,
unpredictable, and to meld what they learn into their repertoire
I teach a wide
variety of dances, Latin and ballroom. I am available for private lessons
and parties. To contact me: E-mail
Suzanne or call: 774/454-2927.
Beyond
Beginner Salsa Lesson
Lessons include: Spins, creative latin movement, advanced moves, "magic
hands" (smooth transitions), dips, and drops.
Instructor: Raul
Nieves, Dance Caliente
Raul teaches using coordination patterns and dance concepts (like momentum,
pathways, energy, etc.) set to an "oonka-ahh" rhythm. These
skills, which can be applied to all styles of dance, enable you to spontaneously
and creatively choreograph your dancing.
Raul teaches classes in a
variety of locations and is also available for private lessons, parties,
and performances. To contact him: E-mail
Raul, visit www.DanceCaliente.com,
or call: 781/646-1233.
Our
favorite and most common compliment:
“You make dancing so easy!”
“It is
very beginner friendly... The music selection was EXCELLENT... All in
all, I had a great time and would definitely recommend it for people
who just want to have fun...” - Dust (Review from SalsaBoston.com)
